Environment

GMS Composites takes it commitment and responsibility to the environment seriously. We believe that we need to manufacture our products and conduct our business in a fashion that limits our impact on the environment and we continually strive for new ways to reduce our environmental impact.
Below are a few measures or developments we have undertaken. No Industrial Solvents used in the production of our epoxy resin prepregs.
This means we have no emissions of toxic solvents into the atmosphere, lower energy consumption during production, and an improved product, as there is no residual solvent left in the prepregs.
No Industrial Solvents used in the cleaning of production equipment.
We only use biosolvents when we clean. Whilst expensive, they are biodegradable and do not create hazardous wastes after use. They are also safer and less toxic for our employees to work with.
Utilisation of natural light in the workplace.
Our new production facility allows an abundance of natural light into the workplace, which in turn allows us to significantly reduce our reliance on artificial light and hence energy consumption. In fact during the warmer months we do not require any artificial lighting at all.
Recycled water for all production cooling requirements.
A lot of our plant requires cooling capabilities during production. To reduce our consumption of water we have installed a recycling system which virtually eliminates our need for fresh water whilst still supplying the cooling liquid required to cool the equipment.
Environmental considerations at development stage.
We now consider the environmental impact of a product and its production when we are designing, developing or improving it. Importantly this philosophy applies to our procurement of raw materials with a preference to companies that show environmental responsibility and products that enable us to reduce our energy consumption and or the impact on the environment.
